Ruby and Earl: a married couple getting by on cigarettes and sausages amidst the Great Recession of 2008. The couple’s life flips upside down when a joke goes too far, and a plot against Ruby’s parents becomes tangled with their new next-door neighbor Janelle. Familiar Kill wrestles with the forces of poverty, passion, and jealousy, and how they blur the lines of what a person is willing to do to survive.

  • Maureen Hawkins (she/her)

    Maureen Hawkins has enjoyed directing shows for some of Seattle’s small stages and in area schools over several decades. Familiar Kill marks her first directing project in this medium which has provided performing artists with some, albeit limited, creative expression throughout the past 10 months. She is truly thrilled to be working with this beautiful script and with these inspiring actors.

  • Barbara Lindsay (she/her)

    Barbara Lindsay’s first full length play won the NY Drama League’s 1989 Playwriting Award and was given its premiere production in London in 1991. Since then there have been more than 400 performances of her plays, monologues, and screenplays in 33 States, 13 countries, and on every continent except Antarctica. Babs is also an actress and writing coach. Thank you to Shattered Glass for your awesome support of Familiar Kill.

  • Molly Hall (she/her)

    Molly Hall has been a theatre artist all her life as an actor, choreographer, writer, and drama educator. Favorite recent roles include Miss Honey in MATILDA (Bainbridge Performing Arts), Debra in KIMBERLY AKIMBO (As If Theatre Co.), and Tanya in MAMMA MIA! (Kitsap Forest Theater). She has her MFA in Acting from the University of Washington and is a proud co-founder of As If Theatre Co. She is thrilled to be making art in whatever way possible during this unprecedented chapter in the world, and is beyond thankful to all the artists involved with The Shattered Glass Project for making that possible.

    Kathy Hsieh (she/her) is an award-winning theatre artist recently in Sound Theatre’s Gaslight (Angel Street) (Bella), Seattle Shakespeare Company’s Drum & Colours’ Hamlet (Gertrude) and As You Like It (Phebe), Book-It’s audio adventure The Three Musketeers (Constance & Kitty), and Macha Theatre Works’ Notes for My Daughter and Snow Woman. She has also worked with SIS Productions, Pratidhwani, PFP, ReAct, Seattle Rep, ACT, Intiman, Taproot, ArtsWest, Seattle Public Theater, Living Voices, WET and more.

  • Ronnie Hill (he/him)

    Earl

    Ronnie Hill is a local Seattle Actor/Singer. Some of his more recent work around town include appearances at Seattle Public Theater, Lakewood Theater, and Book-it Theater where he was nominated for an award for acting excellence by Seattle Theatre Writers for one of his favorite roles as Uncle Willie in Maya Angelou's I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings.
