Navigating the Playwright-Director Relationship

Wandering_ Final.png

How do playwrights get a new play on stage? What do directors do to make a new script come to life?

A robust discussion of the creative process between the primary creative decision-makers for any theatrical endeavor: the playwright and the director. Led by playwright Alma Davenport, founding artistic director of Brown Soul Productions, a group of 8 playwrights and directors will respond to burning questions, crafted by the cohort members of the 2021 TSGP Incubator/Mentor, about their working relationships. Live streamed on YouTube. The recorded panel will be available after the event. Pay-What-You-Can tickets. More information at https://www.shatteredglassproject.org/playwright-director-relationship

Loom

Sisters of destiny, pardon my intrusion. I don’t suppose you’ve noticed anything...out of the ordinary...taking place?
— Hermes
Loom - Graphic - 12-21-2020.jpg

The Queen of the Dead is missing. The Fates must solve the mystery of her disappearance. Their own immortal relationship as sisters is also at risk. Can they bring back the QOTD to her quarreling mom and spouse before the dead overwhelm the world of the living? Can Atropos prove her worth? Can Clotho live her dreams? Can Lachesis get everyone to just calm down and follow the rules? Join us for answers to these questions and so very much more.

Written by Carolynne Wilcox. Directed by Rebecca O’Neil

Tickets on sale now. All tickets are PWYW.

All New Cells

‘The Care and Keeping of You’ never prepared me for creeping existential dread.
— Nils
All New Cells Social Media poster.png

Trigger warnings: suicide, child sexual abuse, transphobia

When Nils's ex-girlfriend dies suddenly, she drags him back into a toxic online roleplay scene he swore he'd never return to. He'd been doing okay sticking to his seven-year plan for getting over their breakup - but now, everyone either blames him or expects him to have answers, and he's getting nasty anonymous messages that might be coming from beyond the grave. A nuanced examination of identity, trauma, assault, grief, and mental health through an online world.

Written by Aliza Goldstein. Directed by Alison Kozar.

Tickets now available for both dates, February 26 & 27, 2021. All tickets are PWYW.

Nils:

You’re you
at the end of everything
you’re still you
just
a better
truer
you

Moody:

But how do I become that person?
Where do I even start?

She makes me feel nine feet tall, ya know? Like I’m the only guy was ever good to her. Like I’m the only guy she ever loved. Believe me, Ruby and me, we’re fine.
— Earl
I hate to think of any creature alone or mistreated. If I could, I’d have a great big farm and take in every animal I could find, the weak and wounded especially.
