FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
As part of the 2025 Plays in Progress series, The Shattered Glass Project is thrilled to present Inside the Head of Mimp written by Miriam BC Tobin, at the MLK FAME Community Center on Friday, March 14, 2025
Inside the Head of Mimp is a cheeky lens into the dangers of scientific curiosity and our boundless hunger for knowledge. Framed like a science presentation, we’ll learn all about the Balloonie People of Planet 14.7892, including little Mimp and her wild imagination. But how did Mimp become the last surviving member of her species? And where's the rest of the scientist's entire research team? With themes of colonization and earthnocentrism, this is a play as much about those big dangerous human acts as it is about the small personal ones that make us “human.”
Plays in Progress is a series of staged readings that bring the Seattle theatre community together with emerging local playwrights to share new plays, build connections and engage in conversation.
Playwright Miriam BC Tobin describes herself as a contemporary absurdist and experimentalist, writing wild plays that are decidedly NOT realism. She says “I want to understand what it means to be a delicate little human in a vast unforgiving world.” Directed by Adrienne Mackey, Inside the Head of Mimp features Bob Downing, Amy Helms, Maureen Hawkins, Bradley Goodwill, and Aidyn Stevens.
