Elections, voting rights and bunnies

At the September meeting we will consider very very short plays by women about voting, elections, politics, pageants and bunnies. Possible titles include "The Existential Crisis in Car 54" by Donna Stasio; "PAGEANT USA: The Making of a President"; "Petticoat Despot" by Jordan Elizabeth Henry; "The Yays: A Three Minute Play" by Wendy Schmidt'; and "Two Bunnies Talking" by Rachel Carnes. Scripts will be provided.

Playwright Marsha Norman once said, “If life were like theatre, four out of every five things you ever heard would have been said by a man.” Join the Women's Readers Theatre Bookclub, and help change that statistic. Monthly meetings will feature out-loud popcorn style readings of plays by women, both old and new. If you have a play you want to hear out loud, let us know. Otherwise, different plays will be selected by committee and featured on a monthly basis. Be a recommender of plays by women - join the club! (Kids are always welcome, but child-care is not provided as yet - stay turned for further announcements.)
