As part of the 2025 Plays in Progress, The Shattered Glass Project is thrilled to present A Scythe and a Sandglass the Skeleton Bore, written by Mariah Lee Squires & S.W. Jones, at the Bullitt Cabaret, ACT Contemporary Theatre on Friday, January 24, 2025

The year is 1938. Dr. Lawrence Walton, the direct descendent of Capt. Robert Walton, has acquired his ancestor’s collected writings: the very letters and journal entries detailing the plight of Victor Frankenstein and his murderous Creature. Dr. Walton is determined to rectify the calamitous failures of Frankenstein’s original experiment using modern science and a simple concept: he will tame his Creature by re-animating a female corpse.

Plays in Progress is a series of staged readings that bring the Seattle theatre community together with emerging local playwrights to share new plays, build connections and engage in conversation.

Directed by Shana Bestock, A Scythe and a Sandglass the Skeleton Bore features Enza Fammartino as The Creature, Josephine Keefe as Minnie Walton, Keller O’Malley as Lawrence Walton, and Galen Joseph Osier as Otto Helston.
